I named my son Taylor in 2000 when'there were NO Taylor's. If I would have know it would have been adopted to a girl's name I would have never done it to him. I still love the name but wish that people would use the names appropriately for the'sex of the children and using a boys name for girls really bothe's me. I love strong names for boys or girls but not this way. I also didn't like when he was a baby everyone would call him Tyler, I almost named my second son Tyler just to straighten people out!
I really love this name and I am thinking of calling my baby Taylor if it is a boy :D
my name is Taylor and i am a girl
My name is Taylor Marie!! I saw the first comment and just thought i'd let everyone know :]
I named my son Taylor in 1999, because it was unique, and It'sounded very masculine and like someone of character. I still love his name as a boy's name, and still think it doesn't fit girls as well for a name. My son is someone of character, and wears the name well and is proud of it.
Why do you not take into account the connection between Ben and Benjamin? This would be a very different graph then. You might thing about doing a double bar line graph to show them both on one graph to see the change between Formal and Informal forms of Benjamin as Legal names.
My name is Taylor and it i an awesome name for guys. I rule
taylor can be a boy or a girls name
I named my daughter "Taylor" - Taylor Dawne (Middle name named after my sister - her middle name). She is now 3 yrs 4 months old. I have loved that name'since I was 14 yr olds (8 years ago) and always knew that my first daughter would be named Taylor. Her common nicknames are Tay, TayTay (Her cousin couldn't say Taylor, and started calling her TayTay), Taya (her little sister couldn't pronounce Taylor), Tyler Dwayne (her father wanted a boy lol). We have yet to meet any children her age with the name Taylor. So things are looking good for when she'starts school, should be a decently unique girls name! :) Beautiful name.
Taylor is probably the coolest name i've ever heard of. I like it a lot and one reason is because It's Taylor Lautner's name!!
This is my 15 month old daughters name. I fell in love with it years before I had her. It is unique without being completely out there. It gets mispronounced alot, but it fits her perfectly!!!

The name Trudy is beautiful. Although it is one of the'short forms of "Gertrude", it is also a name in its own right. It means "spear loved maiden." The popularity of names comes and goes ... it is time for this one to make a come back. Very unique and regal!
just for the record, if You'research this name, it was originally used for boys. it was then used less and more for girls. so if you have any doubts naming your son taylor, just remember it was "originally" a "boys" name. My son's name is taylor. i love it
I love Taylor as a girls name! It's also a great boys name, but I know two Taylors in my school and absolutley no Taylor boys.
I think Taylor is a girls name. I would prefer if you were going to name your son Taylor you would name it Tayler, because I feel like they won't be mistaken for a girl that way.
I'm a 40 year-old man named Taylor. For most of my life it was a unique name. Now, of course, It's not. Especially for Generation Z and later, It's very common. But for people my age, It's still a very unique name and I love it.
My name is taylor and i was born in '89 but there are alot of girls with this name'spelled "tayler" which can sometimes be a drag when people tell you its a girls name. But it is not a girls name i know many more male taylors than female taylors so its all good. i think its a strong name for guys who are able to carry the'selves in a confident fashion
My son's name is Taylor and it is very annoying that is has turned into a trendy girls name, like Jordan. Taylor from the word tailor, did you ever hear of a female tailor, no they call them seamstresses...lol
i named my son Taylor and every time i tell someone his name is Taylor they always ask is it a girl or why did i call him Taylor? which is frustrating because i love Taylor as a boys name and i think its very manly, and my theory is that the name Taylor came from a tailer maker which is a man! but now because its such a popular name for a girl im think I'might change his name to Tyler because im afraid he'll get teased at school.
I love the name Taylor for boys I have no idea why people name girls this.
Too many people have this name...I used to be the only Kara around....and yes I do get Kar-uh a lot (which drives me CRAZY)....anyways now its everywhere especially on the TV. I don't know why it drives me nuts. I guess It's because other Kara's are typically + or - 10 years of my age 15-35.... where were all these Kara's when I was growing up? I remember never being able to find a personalized keychain or pen anywhere and now the name'seems as common as Jennifer, lol! Also, my parents picked my name because the day I was born they drove down Kara Lane, hence calling me Kara (they wanted my middle name to be Elaine, Kara Elaine") but instead they chose a family member's name for my middle name...okay thats the end of my rant!
My husband I are having a baby boy in June 2020. We had a really hard time coming up with a name for a boy. I thought of the name Taylor (after my grandparents. It's their last name). We both really liked the name. We started telling everyone that we were naming him Taylor. I'mediately my mother-in-law said It's more of a girl name than a boy then we started hearing that from other people as well. My husband still wants to use the name Taylor even if It's a new trend for people to name their daughter's Taylor. He really likes it but now I am worried that he will get teased in school if we name him Taylor. What if there are 5 girls in his class named Taylor and he's the only boy!!? I don't know what to do.
Most of the people I know named Taylor are boys, including my boyfriend. It is a super common name though for boys and girls in the 80s-90s born generation.

I'm a 16 year old boy named Taylor. I get girls, I have a good amount of friends, and it wasn't my choice being named Taylor, so I accept it. Yes, people time from time will be like, "Haha Isn't that a girl's name?!" and I will just stare at them and they close there mouth. I'm short too, just the overall fact that It's common knowledge that Taylor is both a guys and girls name, if someone is enough of a jerk to criticize you for it, they arent worth the time of day. Name your kids Taylor if you want to, they'll learn to deal with people.

Taylor was always a boy's name until Taylor Dayne hit the pop charts in 2000... and Taylor wasn't even her name until show business, it was Leslie. Now it has become trendy to give girls masculine names. I don't regret naming my son Taylor and still like it.

Live in the UK and in 2019 we named our boy Taylor. Once he'started school we started hearing about loads of girls with this name. Now my brother in law has married a women who had called her daughter Taylor as well. I still think it is a very manly name and that was the reason I chose it. My husband is sturdily built like Russell Crowe in the Gladiator fI'm; so for this reason I wanted a strong name to suit my son, who will probably grow up similar looking. It has taken me many years to accept the name Taylor to be used for a girl but now I get it. I can now imagine a strong women using the name. But I still favour it as a man's name best. There again my strapping husband is called Lee and my dad who is also of the'same build is called Chris'(short for Christopher). Both their names are also used for girls but usually spelt different. Only other manly name I can'think of that I really wouldn't see working for a girl is Ricky lol. Time will tell!
I love it. It's a name for strong, manly hansome guys.
I think the problem with my name is that way too many people call me "Tyler". I'm OK with my name, but I'd much rather be an Alex.
My 6 year old has the name is Taylor....and I could not think of another name that would fit this well...she is unique...and SPONKY....cute...smart...and wild...we love her!!
