My name is also Antonia. I too go by Toni, after my grandpa Tony. I have never "known" anyone with my name. Most people do not pronounce my name wrong. They usually don't even attempt it. Although many people, even relatives who have known me all my life spell Toni with a y. I AM NOT A BOY!! Yeesh!! I love my name though. It's not ordinary!!

My bro is Antonio named after'san Antonio which we used to live in but we moved when I was 7. now I'm 10 and my bro is 5. I'moved when he was 2. I can't wait for him to grow up! Anyway I'm posting this on every name that'sounds like Antonio. Good day to y'all.

My name in Antonia and i've never in my entire 14 years of living met another Antonia, it kinda blows my mind.

My name is ANTONIA, I'm past 60, and all my life, even'to the present day, I'm called ANTONIO, which I find reprehe'sible. In my youth, my name was not common at all, I only knew 2 other Antonia's, and they both used Antoinette instead. I can see 50-60 years ago that it would be pronounced by stupid people as ANTONIO, but today, although not common, It's heard a bit more often Nicole KI'man's sister is named Antonia, Tony Bennett has a daughter named Antonia, there's Lady Antonia Fraser... I HATED my name while growing up because of its constant mispronouncing. i've learned to live with it, but I still have bad memories from my younger days...I was named for my paternal grandmother, so I don't mean disrespect, but I would have been happier with a different name, I have to be honest.

This is my name too. I was actually named after the Italian Island Salina, because I have Italian relatives. I am the only person I know with the name'spelled that way, and when I was little my parents used to say I was the only person with this name in the world. Of course It's not true, considering these facts but I loved it when'they said it to me. It made me feel unique, and these comments on how beautiful the name is really makes me happy. I love my name!

people say antonio, and it gets me really mad. maybe i over react, but i hate it. its antonia, people. with an "a" at the end. i dont see how its that hard but, maybe because im used to it.

I love my name. With the first and middle it is Antonia Sorell, which I think is a fantastic-sounding name. I usually go by Toni, and use Antonia with clients. I feel usually like I'm saving It'so it doesn't get worn out, or like four syllables is just too long for regular conversation. Most people say my name is beautiful. I get a few people who like to call me Antoinette for the fun of it. With the nickname Toni, I got teased on the playground for having a boy's name, which made me rather incensed, and I'd usually yell back that it is spelled with an "i" and that they didn't know what they with talking about. I like Toni, too. It feels rather playful, like me. The only real issue I have in having the name Antonia is that I get called Antonio A LOT. Even in writing. Which is ridiculous. They call me Antonio to my face, which usually makes me despise the person (OBVIOUSLY a boy's name with an "o"!), because they usually say it like a big old know-it-all. It tells me that they don't pay enough attention to detail--I can't have that in any business relationship. No one has my exact name that i've ever found--even online. My last name is mildly outlandish, especially with the name Antonia. People always mispronounce that, too, so my whole name is usually spoken worng. I think I'might freak right out if I ever found someone that'shared my exact name. My mother named me Antonia becuase It'seemed to fit me as a baby and because it is a family name (last Antonia was my great-great grandmother, who was apparently a wonderful person. Have a great uncle named Antonio.).

I do not know anyone with the name "Antonia". I, too, have been called "Antonio", and people do not mind when I explain that is the masculine form of the name. I think it is a beautiful name, and unique.

My sister is called Antonia and I really like it because we both have not very popular names. There is a four year difference between us and i always wonder why we were called our names. Nobody mistakes my sisters name probably because i live in the UK

I have had people call me Antonio before. In 3rd Grade (that's year 4 for brIt'sh people) My teacher called me Antonio for the entire years. I don't mind the name. I don't know. My closest friends and my whole family call me Toni instead. I wish they called me 'Annie' or 'Nia' or something more girly though

i always loved having this beautiful name, in spanish is more common that in other lenguages so people call me anto most of the times, and i think its pretty cool having not a very common name

My names is Antonia and I am happy to be one. I am European and no one there has a problem saying it right and would never mistake it for Antonio. I do have to correct people here in the US sometimes, but I don't care. Also, the way It's pronounced (in my case anyway) is Uhn-toni-a, not Anne-toniya, but like I said, I am European and I prefer it that way.

I go by Toni too, and people ALWAYS swear It's pronounced like the book, well, It's not ;o) But I love my name, I love knowing it means priceless ;)
