Determining the exact origin of Brielle is very hard. One possible source for it is to be a short version of Gabrielle (which means ‘woman of God’ in Hebrew). Another possible source for it is to be a fancy version of Brie. Brie is a French name that comes from a district that has the same name. This French district is famous for producing soft cheeses, from the Latin “brace” meaning ‘marshland.’ Thirdly, Brielle could potentially be a descendant of the Irish name Bríghe meaning ‘the exalted one.’ experts believe that the source for Brielle is that it has developed from both Gabrielle and Bree. In this case, they both come from the same place and connect to being ‘exalted.’

I named my daughter this and absolutely love it! I had never heard it before I picked it. I was surprised to hear how many people know a Brielle. I am seeing it more and more. I think it's a beautiful name and love that it can be shortened to Bree.
i had chosen Berlynn Chryslaar for a girl's baby name and stupid me, told my sis-in-law about it - i didn't even realize she was pregnant, until she sent me a slap-in-the-face email inviting me over to see the newest member of their family: Berlynn Chryslaar! I was appauled that she stole my name! Same spelling and all!

my 2 kids have this name as their 2nd name, a common for them. since my siblings and i have the name of our father, me and my husband thought of having one too for our children, so when i'll have another child again, Brielle will still be part of his/her name...but i am a little confused, i thought gabrielle's meaning is "God is my might." that's where i took the name brielle, from gabrielle.

Is there any other way you can spell Brielle❤️ and have the same sound to it❤️ Can you use a Y❤️❤️
I had never heard of Brielle before tonight, and I agree with the people saying the end is very soft but of course I know Bree from the Desperate Housewives and I was wondering if Bree was a diminutive and of what but I thought that Bree was very ugly. Brielle (by the way, someone asked if it was pronounced Bree-ell, as I would have done, but nobody answered) is short enough so please, don't use Bree. It sounds like the Brie, the name of a French cheese!
