I named my now 4 yr old daughter Aaliah, we loved the traditional spelling but chose to be different, it is a beautiful name and she is a beautiful little girl.. I did look up both Hebrew and Muslim meanings i also had an Arabic friend who said it was an Arabic name 2.it was the Arabic princess's name. My youngest Daughters name is Nikyla (not nicola)said as it looks.. We made the name up though so is it right of us to have our own meaning?? any thoughts?

I think the name aliyah is very pretty so I named my daughter that. Only thing is I don't want people to say I'm naming her because of the'singer. There are other Aliyah's out there.
