My given name is Virginia but I have always been called Ginger after Ginger Rogers.I am often asked "How's Fred❤️" or "...Marianne❤️" Been called gingerbread, gingersnap, ginger ale, ginger peachy, ginger beer--I enjoy it all! It is a fun name to have!
It's wierd because Ginger is my hamster's name. It was pronounced Ginger with a long i at the vet, though. Other than that it is always pronounced right. I love it for a pet like a hamster, but not a person.
I love my name, Ginger. The main joke I heard was "where's MaryAnn❤️" from Gilligan's Island..but I respond by saying, you can call me a moviestar, that's okay. I like having a more unique name.
Ginger Isn't a good name for a girl. It is an awesome episode of South Park ("Ginger Kids").
My name is Ginger. I was going to be named Virginia, after my grandmother. But my parents said no because they thought I would be called "Virginia the Virgin" or "Ginny" (another nickname) but then'they said no because people would call me, "Ginny, Ginny Jack..." you can fill in the rest. So when'they picked "Ginger" they were like, "Oh! No one will make fun of that one!" My father used to tell me that I was named after the families favorite dog and I have heard all of the little jokes. But it is cool with it now. I want to change it to Virginia, for a more professional name and people that know me can call me Ginger. I have not decided what to do yet.
My name is Ginger, and I love my name. I think its one of those names that people aren't quite sure what kind of personality to associate it with...especially since I'm Asian, it kind of throws people off a bit. I have yet to shake hands with another Ginger, although I know people who know other people besides me, named Ginger. But I was always the only Ginger in the entire school, even in high school with 3,000 other'students. i've gotten'the whole "My dog is named Ginger", and "Gilligan's island" thing, and the whole "ooh, your spicy" from guys. The truth is, I was named after Ginger Rogers(way classier than being named after a fictional character! or a spice), and also b/c It'sounds very close to my Chinese name. I hated my name as a little girl...was teased mercilessly over it. But I learned to embrace it in my teenage years, officially nicknaming myself Gingerbread, or "Breado" for short. To this day, I continue to draw little Gingerbread character (a little Gingerbread girl with a big bow on her head)whenever I sign a card or write a letter. And for the past 10 years or so, not a Christmas or birthday has gone by where I have not received a "Gingerbread" item (Aprons, tea towels, cookie cutters, dolls, ornaments, kitchen utensils, stationary...on and on)as a gift. It will be so easy to name the bakery I want to open one day! :)
I absolutely love my name! People always remember me, everywhere I go so that's a huge plus. i've only ever met one other "Ginger" but have met a few Virginia's that use Ginger as a nick name. If you are thinking about naming your daughter Ginger please be prepared for some teasing from other kids but teach her to be as strong and confident as her name and give her the ability to laugh at her'self and she will most likely love her name and not let the joking bother her at all! When ever'someone joked about my name, I would come back with an even better joke regarding my name and we would all have a good laugh!
My name is Ginger and I have always loved it. I don't often meet othe's with this name but it is not completely unusual. As long as you don't mind hearing, "my dog's name is Ginger!" then it is a great name for a daughter. There are also Ginger's whose given name is Virginia which allows for a more "professional" choice later in life.
Love my name ... Well It's a nick name my acual name is Virginia but mpeveryone calls me ginger (I'm not even a red head) and I love it! Everyone remembers me!
I got called the Ginger breadman for years as a child.... But as an adult I love my name and wouldnt change if for the world my favorite nick name was Ginger Cookie Thanks mom!
Ginger is awful my reasons it is a horrid hair colour kind of weird plus it bound to be made fun of yeesh
Hi, My name is Ginger. My father named me. Sometimes the jokes get to me. But what the hell, My father loved it! He is gone now and beli've me I'miss him calling my name! My mother wanted to call me Veronica... I hate that name. Thank you Dad for standing your ground! I am ok with it now that I am older. He named me after Ginger Rogers. LOL I only wish I looked like her! Have a Great Day! Aug.27th 2020.
I absolutely love being a Ginger! I think othe's have personality traits that they associate with this name: funky, creative, spicy, perhaps not the most serious-- that's all fine with me, It's whats on the inside that counts. i've actually met quite a few Ginger's in my day (I actually just met one yesterday however, she was a Virginia). I do get "Oh! That's my dog's name" and "Where's MaryAnn❤️" a lot. To be honest, my last name is Rogers... I know, Ginger Rogers. So, there are endless punchlines to my name, but its always a conversation starter. I hated it as a kid, wanting a "normal" name like Kelly or Rachel, but now I'm so glad I have something more individual. I think Ginger is a great option for someone searching for baby names.
its an ugly, stupid name for a human but good for food and animals
My dogs name is Ginger I love it for pets but I also love it for peaple its pretty.
I love the name. However one should have a strong business/professional name and I am not fond of Virginia. Could it be a nickname for something other that Virginia❤️
My name is Ginger and I love it because there are not many Ginger's that I have met in my lifetime. I think it is cute and different and very spicy!Sure there are beautiful names out there but I wouldn't change mine for any other name. Ginger Elizabeth.
Strong contender as a name for my soon-to-be daughter.
My name is Ginger, and there is actually another lady at work named Ginger! We are always getting each other's emails or phone calls. Many people use my nickname "Snap". My red hair is why people think I am called Ginger, but that's not true. I like my name.
Cute name. You don't hear it much these days. Hopefully it won't get over used.
