Mafalda is a name of Old German origin that translates to "mighty in battle." The name is derived from the Germanic elements "maht," meaning might or strength, and "hild," which means battle. It connotes a person who is strong, capable, and resilient, someone who can face challenges head-on and come out victorious.

I never knew what the name means, but I'd name my daughter Mafalda. It's cute, and when I was 10 or 11 I used to be a big fan of a comic book character named Mafalda, created by Quino in 1976. I think it is of Spanish origin a variant of Matilda which means "mighty in battle". It is quite common in Portugal.
The Japanese can not pronouce "L", ergo, in the anime "Death Note" they made up "Kira" coined from the American word, "Killer". It does not otherwise mean "to kill" or any death related things. :D Yay~ LoL
