My fathe's name was Randall and he passed away 2 years ago. Everyone he knew called him Randy except his mother called him Randall. She was very formal like that. But it is a good name that goes well with alot of other names.
I am a female Randall, born in 1961 at the beginning of the "baby boom". For no reason my parents named me Merry Randall expecting to call me Merranda. Randy stuck and in the late 50s and early 60s I was made fun of by the other kids, put into the boys PE class in Jr. high. I have finally learned to love my individuality the past couple of decades...So there are female Randys in the world and it is ok.
My name is Randi short form of Randall. And everyone I'meet says "Isn't that a boys name❤️" Well duh. do you think I don't realize that❤️ It is a unique name, but it is hard for girls to have the name
I go by Randy because Randall sounds so formal, except ther was that movie Cler's--hmm. Some people deliberately mispronounce it and with emphasis on the last syllable--RanDELL, RanDOLL. i've been called Randex (or maybe he meant Rand X) and RanDISS (I don't know what was going on in that guys head). I once worked in a group of about 50 with three other Randys, all born in the peak years in the graph above.
I never liked the name Randall or Randy. Randall is not a name Americans in general appreciate or like. It was just a fad in the late 1962's so some people would have a kid named Randy. But Randy is also a slang word that has very negative connotations in Europe and India. Yet the naive American parents who named their boys (or girls) Randy at that time had no idea of that alternate bad meaning. Now those boys are adults working in a multi-national environment and their name is not helping them, but rather an embarrassment and detriment to their reputation.
well its my name and it kind of feels akward when i go out in public and someone says my name but everyone that noes my name does n't think it is wierd
You know, Daisy is also a nickname for Margaret. If you are worried that your little girl won't be taken seriously when she grows up, you could name her Margaret, but she could go by Daisy as a child/with family, but still have a "respectable" adult name.
Its my dads name, Its a great name but he goes by Randy. Its fitting, but with any name he would still be a great guy.
