The most amazing women I have ever known was named Ilo, she was my Great Aunt...more like a Grandmother. I always spent weekends with her while growing up. She passed in 2010 and I am now raising my family in her home with my husband of 10 years. We have a 3 year old son and a baby girl due in 8 weeks, whom I will be naming after my Great Aunt Ilo...It's a special and unique name!
I like my name, agree with the other poster about the mispelling and mispronouncing, which is a pretty common problem. i've decided to just go by my nick name...sex machine! (just kidding)
I love my name Brett. I was named after a favorite author of my father, Bret Hart. The without n't wrestler. They gave me two 't's to match middle name'scott. I tell people It's because It's worth more in scrabble.
We named our son Brody Alex in April2013. Everyone comments on his name and loves it. We call him brody, brod, and bubba lol why we call him bubba is beyond me hes a rail!
my name came from Brett Maverick - the tv show character from the 60's and 70's - my parents watched it and like the name. i always get brent, burt or brad once in a while but that's about it... when i am called Brat it is deserved so there's n'thing to say! people say I'make them laugh and laugh a lot...
My son's name is Brett. He is named after George Brett, Kansas City Royals 3rd baseman. His middle name is Ryan after Nolan Ryan'the pitcher. Funny how you become your name as he loves baseball and both pitches and plays third base!!
My name is Brett, and I did appreciate being the only Brett in HS & college, and my career. I was born in 1973 and named after Brett Maverick, the character that Janes Garner played in'tV. It's a crisp fun youthful name. I was often asked if it was a nick name. In'the media recently, it was referred to as a ?Frat Boy? name. It's a good name, strong & unique enough, but n't crazy weird. Thanks Mom!
My husbands name is Brett Andrew I love his name he is a strong sensible funny person his mother was reading a love novel when she was in labour with him the main character was Brett Andrews lol Thank God for the che'sy novel
Often misspelled (Bret) and more often misunderstood or mistaken for "Brad" or "Brent" when spoken.
i was also named after brett maverick back in 1970, my middle name is wayne after john wayne... go figure guess what was watched? the only bad thing growning up with brett is you could never find it on license plates, or key chains or any other name oriented items until i was to old to want them.
I was born in 1949 and my mother named me Brett after a furn'ture company in Mankato Minnesota. I think I was the first Brett in'the US.
Unisex name - not good for boys - they will grow up and it will be a girl's name by then like Stacy & Jody & Darcy have become! Yuck!
yes, "candace" is how my name is spelled. it is often misspelled and pronounced, always added with a 'n' at the end. over the phone most people mistaken it as "tina" ...???? this version is the most common spelling of it, but in middle school i was tired of it being said and spelled completey wrong that i decided to spell it "candis" and since then i have had no problems.
My son's name is Brett. He is 15.His dad chose his name and I liked it alot so I agreed. We only know one other Brett he is alittle younger than my son. My son is sweet and always smiling.Meets a friend wherever he goes.
I was born in Australia in 1971 and, like several other commenters, was named after Brett Maverick. Obviously this show was also popular in Australia at that time! I'moved to the US about ten years ago and, also like other commenters, have often been frustrated that my name is heard as "Brent" or "Brad".
