My husband's name is Brett and I think It's a great name. I'm often surprised how often it is misspelled for Bret as i've never know anyone to spell it that way.
We name our little boy Bailey...It'seemed like such a boy's name to us. It fits him perfect!

I have been especially proud of my first name, because It's my grandmother's maiden name. i've always enjoyed the fact that I rarely meet othe's named Brett, and for whatever reason, have always been irritated by the name Brent...like It's a cheap knockoff. Of course, it probably has more to do with the fact that I knew a kid by that name that I couldn't stand, and people sometimes called me Brent...drawing my ire. Anyway, I love my name. Much thanks to my parents! Good choice!
i've always been more than happy with the name brett as It's an unusual one but 'brat' is something i've heard far too many times for my liking.. the hazards of a fruity name i guess, although i am english so i haven't got a clue about the us-uk comparison..❤️
The most amazing women I have ever known was named Ilo, she was my Great Aunt...more like a Grandmother. I always spent weekends with her while growing up. She passed in 2010 and I am now raising my family in her home with my husband of 10 years. We have a 3 year old son and a baby girl due in 8 weeks, whom I will be naming after my Great Aunt Ilo...It's a special and unique name!
I like my name, agree with the other poster about the mispelling and mispronouncing, which is a pretty common problem. i've decided to just go by my nick name...sex machine! (just kidding)
I love my name Brett. I was named after a favorite author of my father, Bret Hart. The without n't wrestler. They gave me two 't's to match middle name'scott. I tell people It's because It's worth more in scrabble.

My son's name is Brett. He is named after George Brett, Kansas City Royals 3rd baseman. His middle name is Ryan after Nolan Ryan'the pitcher. Funny how you become your name as he loves baseball and both pitches and plays third base!!
My name is Brett, and I did appreciate being the only Brett in HS & college, and my career. I was born in 1973 and named after Brett Maverick, the character that Janes Garner played in'tV. It's a crisp fun youthful name. I was often asked if it was a nick name. In'the media recently, it was referred to as a ❤️Frat Boy❤️ name. It's a good name, strong & unique enough, but n't crazy weird. Thanks Mom!

Often misspelled (Bret) and more often misunderstood or mistaken for "Brad" or "Brent" when spoken.

Unisex name - not good for boys - they will grow up and it will be a girl's name by then like Stacy & Jody & Darcy have become! Yuck!
yes, "candace" is how my name is spelled. it is often misspelled and pronounced, always added with a 'n' at the end. over the phone most people mistaken it as "tina" ...❤️❤️❤️❤️ this version is the most common spelling of it, but in middle school i was tired of it being said and spelled completey wrong that i decided to spell it "candis" and since then i have had no problems.

I was born in Australia in 1971 and, like several other commenters, was named after Brett Maverick. Obviously this show was also popular in Australia at that time! I'moved to the US about ten years ago and, also like other commenters, have often been frustrated that my name is heard as "Brent" or "Brad".
