I have been especially proud of my first name, because It's my grandmother's maiden name. i've always enjoyed the fact that I rarely meet othe's named Brett, and for whatever reason, have always been irritated by the name It's a cheap knockoff. Of course, it probably has more to do with the fact that I knew a kid by that name that I couldn't stand, and people sometimes called me Brent...drawing my ire. Anyway, I love my name. Much thanks to my parents! Good choice!

My name is Brett, and I did appreciate being the only Brett in HS & college, and my career. I was born in 1973 and named after Brett Maverick, the character that Janes Garner played in'tV. It's a crisp fun youthful name. I was often asked if it was a nick name. In'the media recently, it was referred to as a ❤️Frat Boy❤️ name. It's a good name, strong & unique enough, but n't crazy weird. Thanks Mom!

I was born in Australia in 1971 and, like several other commenters, was named after Brett Maverick. Obviously this show was also popular in Australia at that time! I'moved to the US about ten years ago and, also like other commenters, have often been frustrated that my name is heard as "Brent" or "Brad".
