Jamie

Our son, 10-years old, is Jamie. His full name is Edward James D. Edward, after my now-deceased father, and James after his father's long-ago deceased brother. We thought it fitting to name him after family. But when he was born premature at 2 lbs., and he was admitted to the NICU, the nurses all referred to him as EDWARD; well it just seemed to be too BIG of a name. He was small, defenseless, gentle. Jamie, came in to play within the first few days, and it just stuck...It'stuck so well. He is SO Jamie, still. Gorgeous, sweet, sensitive, popular, a skate-boarding, long-haired, double-ear-pierced freak at 10!!! We were told by doctors that he would be blind and have cerebral palsy...but NOTHING. he's perfect, healthy, and our true blessing! Jamie Isn't a name for the bully in class. The name "Jamie" for boy is a true depiction of the kind of boy he is, and the kind of man he will become. Not a mama's boy...don't get me wrong. Just a loving child who has no qualms about yelling, "I love you, Mom", from the football field. May all of you have a Jamie! (And maybe the name has nothing to do with it...maybe my husband and I just have the perfect genes!) Sorry, I don't mean to sound pompous...I'm, we're, just thankful.

I hear from mothe's how "cute" Jamie sounds for a boy's name. Let me ask you, what if your boy Isn't going for cute? What if your boy gets tired of having mail addressed to him as "Ms Jamie?" Consider also how often he'll hear, "But that's a girl's name!" from both kids AND adults. From an adult Jamie who has experienced all this: give your boy a solid masculine name. Or name them James, Jacob, or Jay and consider Jamie as a nickname.

Hi ... we named our Baby, which was born January 28th 2018 Jamie as well. We life in Vienna/Autria (Europe) and Jamie is quite unusual name here. But as we love England and the US, we decided to give our baby an "english/american" Name. I think Jamie is better for a boy than a girl. It's old news for girls, but cool for guys. There are enough male Jamies that they shouldn't take too much guff for it. It's cute!

My name is Jermaisseon. Within its letters, "Jamison" and "Jamie" can be found. I feel like a "hidden Jamie". I'm a guy BTW (in case you were wondering). I feel like people who are known as Jamie (whether legally named James or not) are good people who are capable of doing great things in life. Definitely recommend for a boy (let's stop using Jamie on girls, It's flat out WRONG!).

I live in England and my son born in 2003 was named Jamie. It is most definitely a boy's name here. Short for James, but a name on its own.

Jamie is definitely a fantastic boy's name and always will be. It is fading for girls. In the UK Jamie is 98% male. For a boy, go for Jamie, but maybe as nickname for James (also fantastic).
