I wish this was my name instead of just plain Katherine. It's so beautiful and soft sounding. To the commenter from August 08, don't know if you'll ever'see this, but the name is prononuced (Cat-er-rina). :)
My name is Katerina, My mom thought it was unique. I was only confused because according to the U.S government, (my social security card and my birth certificate) spell it Katerina. While my mom and my school (the k-12 system) spelt it Katarina. So, I feel as if my life was a lie (ha ha) I spelt my own name wrong all of my life! It was weird getting into the transition. I like it but everyone mistakes it for Katrina...and its annoying.. But, personally the name is sorta fancy...thats why I just go by Kat its simple and fits me...plus I am tired of everyone saying my name wrong =)
It is my name and has been mispronounced as Katrina my whole life. Paired with an easily mispronounced last name makes for subconsciously spelling my name for business forms, etc. I love it I really do. Usually go by Kat to make it easy on everyone but It's nice to hear my full name every now and then and inter'sting who chooses to call me by my full name and who shortens to Kat.
I named my daughter Katerina and knew it was russin ... my mother name is Katrina so she is named after her!Ihate when we are at dr school are other place that call her name bc we will sit there not know there calling her bc they r saying Katrina when it katerina and then'the people get upset at us bc they don't say her name right so we don't answer till they call her last name out bc its different but i love my blonde hair green eye big lips sassy KATERINA
Excellent name with great russian roots. I like it. i feel like Katerina the Great -)
my best friends name is katerina, shes masodonian n her nickname is kate..(ca-teh)
So many people have pronouced my name wrong! They always say Katrina instead of Katerina. I find that they shouldn't be pronoucing it wrong because the er is very obvious, but I guess that's just me. I kindof want to change my name to Katarina because my mom wanted to spell it that way and it would be pronounced the right way if it was written like that.
My daughter's name is actually Ekaterina but that was not in the database. I picked it because it has the exotic yet authentic feel to it. I fell in love with it. The bummer about the name is that people mistake it for Katrina and that does bother me.
My parents are russian. My mom named me Ekaterina cause in my family there is a tradition to name girls with a greek name'starting with E. My grandma was Evdokia, mom Elena, me-Ekaterina. Also in the 1998, when I was born it was the most famous name that's why in class we had 3 girls named Katerina. I suppose in the whole school there way 50 Katerinas or more! And in University too(( But now I like my mame especially when I'm abroad. In europe there are less people named the'same. And Karetina has soooo many variations. People call me Katty, Kitty, Kate, Katerine... in Russia Katya or Katyusha! That's cool) Ancient name with great rutes and meaning=)
is this pronounced (Ca-trina) or (Cat-ER-EE-Nah) ❤️❤️
