Beth eeeeeeeeeeeeee is the'sweetest girl in the whole world
When I was six months pregnant My husband and I came across the name Kaden and fell in love with it.He is nine months old now and it fits him well.We love the name and its neat to see othe's do too.
my name is beth and for some strange reason i always thought it was a fat name im not fat myself but when i was younger people called me beef maybe because i was a vegetarian but i never found out.
My name is Beth and It's quite BLAAHHH! Kids would always call me death beth after those garbage pail cards. I don't like it, It's very boring.
My name is Beth as well. I have noticed that people have a hard time catching my name on the phone and think I am saying Bev (which I don't like). When my husband and I went on a vacation to Chile, they people there had a hard time pronouncing it. I always thought my name was kind of plain, but there weren't many other Beths in my classes. My husband sometimes calls me Bethie and my parents used to call me Bethie or Miss Bethie when I was little. I like how it is easy to spell. Now that I am married my last name is also only one syllable so it often feels too short.
My daughter's middle name is Elizabeth. I thought it was neat that we could call her'so many variations like Liz, Eliza, Beth and my husband said no--everyone knows Beth is a fat girl name. I had heard that before. Anyway, I personally would not want this for a first name because It'seems to have some deep connotations as this was 13 years ago--It's had this reputation for quite awhile.
I'm 17 and from Britain. I don't mind my name, It's not popular but not unheard of. I too have corrected various people on many occasions that my name is not 'Elizabeth', 'Bethan', 'Bethany'. But personally, I prefer Beth out of all of the listed, so I'm glad my Mam opted for it! It would have been shortened to Beth anyway, It's simple and It'suits me just fine:-)I don't actually know anybody who loves their name, It's who you are and what You're born with. Embrace it, a person will love you for you, not your name!!
I am a 58-year-old woman named Beth. I have always disliked my name, especially as a child. I always wished I could have had a more inter'sting or popular name like Brenda, Kathy, Melanie, etc. As a child, I was called "bath" "breath" "breast", etc. and it was very humiliating. In my first marriage my last name was also one syllable and it just didn't sound right. It's not a name that can go with most last names. All in all, I don't think It's a very imaginative name.
I'm Beth and i've always liked it (of course, I'm named after my grandfather w/a "B" name, and I like knowing that) -- and I always like that people assume I'm Elizabeth and they're surprised when I tell them I'm really Beth.
Beth is my real name and it is not shortened to anything. When I was reading these comments one caught my eye when saying "Beth is a fat girl name" which is stereotypical and just plain rude. I'm English and I can proudly say I have never in my life ever met anyone called Beth. My name used to be Beth~Amelia and It'still is but I don't tell anyone because I don't care what people think of me by my name. People say that Beth Isn't a name and shouldn't be counted as one and I say, forget them. I love my name and I'll never change it. Even if my entire school has told me to kill myself due to my name
I like the name Beth, but I would advise you to call your daughter Elizabeth and shorten it. At least you give your child the choice as they grow older.
When I was a kid I hated my name because nobody could pronounce it. But through the years i've learned to love it because it is unique and very feminine. People tend to grow into their names and having an unusual, pretty, but also somewhat masculine name, has made me more unique and free spirited.
my name is elizabeth, but i go by beth. i like both names, It's not weird but not overly common. It's more a sweet than a sophisticated name
I am a Beth, not a "Bethay" or "Elizabeth". When my mother was 12 years old she fell in love with the character Beth in little women, and new she would one day name her daughter after the'sweet girl who cared so much for othe's. She also wanted me to have the'same nicknane the character Jo gave Beth, and to my family I was known as Bethy. Growing up there were 4 other Beths at my school, 1 in my grade and 3 in my sister's grade. I think that actually was an odd having so many Beth's from elementary through high school. I can't recall encountering any other Beths growing up. I love being unique, having a name that is considered "timeless". I do beli've It'suits me character and I have often been'told I "look like a Beth".
Woo another Natasha Here...ILoveeMyName! I have nicknames like Naya Tash Tosh Nattie Natz..I still get called Nattie by all my mates ..IloveThe nickname but other people call my sasha after hearing my name im like no its tasha but i got over it pretty quick. I used to think it was really normal Name coz i like to be unique but i dnt know many other tash's i think it a cool name.. x
I'm 12 and my name is Beth. It's short for Elizabeth, but I hate people calling me Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzy, Liza, etc. I won't let anyone call me any kind of variation of Elizabeth, besides one of my best friends. Only she can call me Liz. If anyone else did, I'd punch them. But, I love the name Beth. It's short so It's easy for people to remember. There's no one else at my school named Beth, and i've only seen one other Elizabeth. So It's original. Overall, I think everyone else who said It's boring, unoriginal, etc. is wrong. :D I LOVE it :)
I was born in 1974 and was christened Beth though not short for Elizabeth like most Beths. It's funny when people try to be smart and write my full name down on paper. Someday they'll realize Im not Elizabeth, Bethany, or Beatrice and just Beth! I'm glad I was named Beth though. It's a cute name and I appreciate it.
Im Called Beth, Its Short For Bethannie Though, But Ive Never Met Or Heard Of Someone Else Named Bethannie. Not Spelt Like That Anyway.. Ive Met Bethany's, And Beths But Never A Bethannie. So I Feel Quite Original. Ther's Only 3 Beth's In My School Of Over 1000 Students, So I Feel Really Different. I Love Being Called Beth =) I Think Its A Really Pretty Name.
My name is just Beth and I like it. I was named after the Beth in little women because my mum really liked the name. Most people automatically assume my name is Bethany or Elizabeth and i've argued with some people about it which is really funny as they think I don't know my own name - but I really do like it, its short and sweet.
It's my name and I think It's very boring. Nobody has ever'said to me "gee, that's a nice name". It's pretty invisible. Name your child Elizabeth is you like the nickname "Beth"!
I love the name Beth as a nickname for Elizabeth/Elisabeth. It may not be in the Top 100 anymore, but that's part of Beth's charm. It's a name that everyone knows, yet It's also surprisingly rare. I think it ages well, too, and would suit everyone from a young girl to a mature woman. Plus, Beth sounds so pretty and soft. It's feminine without being fussy.
It's my great-grandmother's name, so It's nice to have it in honor of her, but when I was little, people kept thinking my name was Elizabeth instead. Now, that doesn't happen as much anymore.
I didn't like my name when I was a kid, but as I got older, I liked it more. It's a gentle name, and kind of different in some ways! I have had people tell me how much they like the name.
My name is Beth, too and people always think it is Elizabeth or Marybeth but it is just Beth. So I constantly have to correct people.
I agree with the comment above. Boring. My parents robbed me of all originality.
My age is 55. I was named after my maternal great-grandmother. People called her Liz or Lizzie which she hated. So my grandmother had the family call me Beth. I think it fits me - simple and to the point. I have never had a problem and I like being called Beth.
My name is just Beth and everyone in my school thinks It's something like Bethany, or Elizabeth. The thing is that my middle name is Marie, and I like the name Beth Marie. My mother always said I can either be Beth or Beth Marie, she thinks they're both pretty names and I agree!
My name is Beth and It's qiute BLAAHHH! Kids would always call me Death Beth after those garbage pail kids cards. I don't like it, It's boring.
My given name is Beth. I used to hate that it wasn't a longer name with a nickname. I don't mind it at all now but people always think It's either'short for Elizabeth or Bethany.
My name is Beth. It used to be Elizabeth, but I changed it, as people had always called me Beth, and it was inconvenient to be called a different name to the one I had to put on paperwork etc. I don't really like the name, but a few people have told me they like it.
My name is Beth and I LOVE it! The best part is, there's no other Beth at my school so everyone knows It's me. The name Isn't that common in my area. My name is short for Elizabeth and i think It's a super cute and catchy.
My name is Beth. My name Isn't shortened for anything, it is just Beth. I'm the only person in my middle school named Beth. I think it is a really cool uncommon name. I never meet anybody with the'same name as me, which I think is quite cool. People always think my real name is Elizabeth or Bethany. I use this to my advantage sometimes and ask people I know to guess my real name (it can be quite fun to see people try to guess).
my name is beth. it does get pretty boring i admit, but it can be awesome at times. usually people with long names like elizabbeth, people always call you different nicknames like liz, beth, eli, eliza, etc. you only have to worry about 1 name if your name is beth. and if youwanted a nickname it could be cool because you can make one up instead of getting a common one from your original name. also, beth is so easy and fast to write and type!
I am a 50 year old lady who has the name Beth. I always wished it was longer, more melodic and cutsie. All my cousins and sisters had names that endie in the ee sound and seemed cute like Nancy, Trudie, Christie ... so I resented having a short blunt name. However now as a middle aged lady I find myself nicely preserved, full of happiness and thrilled to be alive so I guess the name - Beth - which means defender has done a good job of making me the person I want to be and it is a perfect name for a lady my age. So go ahead - call your daughters Beth Marie and they will be happy people!
Okayy... I'm called beth... I never ever have been called elizabeth... infact my real full name is Bethany.. I havr never liked my name but now I'm getting older I like it abit more... its unique and in my school unusual!!
My name us Beth not short for anything.. Just Beth..i love my name'so much and i have never had a problem with people about my name...i think am was unique back then in highschool because no one had the'same name...i live my name Beth because It's sweet to pronounce shirt and to the point and am grateful i was given'that name...i love It'so much and i would like to correct people who think that the name Beth is for those fat girls ...Beth is a name like any other...
Its my name too. I always found it kind of staid and conservative - which, I guess, is appropriate, because I am. Growing up I always wished I had a more active name though, like Tracy or Amy.
My name is Beth and I hate it. People think Beths are mild-mannered and boring, and I'm not. I'm forever'struggling to overcome these pre-conceived notions.
My name is Elisabeth, but I have been called Beth my entire life. I I think It's boring, stereotypical, and bland. I use nicknames that are not the first to come to mind, names you only get once You're-arrange the letters, like Billie or Estel.
I have always hated my. I am always correcting people that it is not Elizabeth. I have even got some questionable looks like I don't even know how to spell my own name
My name is Elizabeth - people cal me Beth. To be honest Beth seems pretty blunt, and dull. But my parents nicknamed me Beth and not Liz so that it was more original, and I thank them for that. Liz is dreadful. I still wish for a cooler name though - Grace, Ariel, Eva. All so much nicer in comparison to plain, old Beth.
My name is Beth of course and I have to say I love it it Isn't short for anything jus Beth i've argued with people about it cuz they thought I was lying about my name, which I think is comical. However I love the reasoning for my name I was named after the Kiss song Beth which makes me happy knowing it wasn't just picked out of thin air. Your name is just what people call you It's not who you are either way embrace it. Even if my name was sh!thead I'd probably still find a way to be proud of it lol
"Beth" is not my name, but I do think of someone really cute and smart when I hear it. I think many Beths must be scientists.
