Carleen meaning

I'm always shocked when people spell my name correctly. Went to high school with two Karlenes but have never met another one spelt Carleen. Always getting called Charlene, Colleen or Carly.

My name is Carleen and I have very mixed feelings about the name. It really is a beautiful name...and the'song by Phil Vassar called 'Carlene' makes it feel even more special as we all want to be the women he'sings about in the'song. But It's also a frustrating name to have. For some reason It's a really hard name for people to hear/understand, as othe's have mentioned. So It's common to be called the wrong name: Colleen, Charlene, Caroline, etc. It can wear on you plus add concer's it impacts you when meeting new people as they can't remember your name as its unfamiliar. As a result, i've thought of changing my name. But we'll see...my friends all love the name Carleen. :o) (Plus most of the few Carleen's i've met spell their name Carlene.)

I have had the honour of being named since my birth in 1940....I will soon be 79 years old. I love my name even'thought I have always had to spell it to people and explain that It's not Charlene or Darleen or Marlene...It's CARLEEN. I live in Ontario, Canada. Imagine my surprise, while travelling with my husband in Cornwall England in 1997, seeing a roadside sign that'said.... CARLEEN 1mile....yes there is actually a village in Cornwall called Carleen. It has been'there for a few hundred years. To all the Carleen❤️s out there...Check it out...they have a website.

people do purnounce it wrong and spell it wrong a lot and people i know with the'same way dont spell it the'same way i do. Its pretty fun to have a wierd crazy uncommon name. especcially all the nicknames, i get called car a lot which is fun. or carley. its just a fun crazy name to have.

I was named after my grandfather, Carl. People usually do not spell my name correctly. My Mom new a "Song Queen" (Cheerleader) named Carleen, in High School, who was a really nice person. I routinely spell my name to othe's and sometimes am called Charlene. Since I am named after my grandfather that I dearly loved, I like my name.

My friends name is Karleen which is unusual and extremely uncommon. She's never met anybody else with her name and spelling. She'said its a combination of colleen and something else I can't remember. She also says it is commonly misheard as colleen. I love her name and It'suits her perfectly.

I love my unique name!!! I also spell mine, Carleen. People often call me Charlene and I hate that but it is what it is, i've only met one person so far with my name and she'spells he's the'same :) I am Irish
