My name is Anne and I really don't like it. I always feel like I got ripped off in the name department - much in the'same way as John's must feel about their name. It kind of feels like a non-name, like a prefix or a suffix of 'real' names. Also, you'd think it would travel well as it is pretty common around the world but Anne said with a North American accent can be very confusing to european ears. I'm Canadian but like in the UK and people always think my name is Ian or Erin or M or N - It's so frustrating I always end up spelling it and then'the other person feels stupid for not understanding such a simple name. Also, Annie as a nickname may be cute for a little girl but it wears thin into adulthood. Anyway, I dislike it terribly and will definitely not be passing in on to my daughters.
I happen'to think that this is a very pretty name.
My name, Anne, is incredibly uncommon with people my age (sixteen), but I love its challenge: To be an inter'sting person with an old-fashioned name, instead of an average person with a modern name.
My name is Anne. I'm not crazy about it but I like it better than some of the other name choices out there! I also hate being called Annie. Sigh. My middle name is Rachel and I so wish I had switched to using that name when I started working.
This is my name, I like it because it Isn't too common, much less than John.
It has to be Anne with an "e" for anyone whoever read Anne of Green Gables
I didn't like my name as a child because it wasn't cute like Stacey or Cary.. But as an adult I love it. It is a classic name. As for the'spelling, people just ask with or without an 'e'. Not really a problem.
It's too plain, and I often get called Annie or Anna. But I perfer Anne with an 'e' over Ann.
Everyone calls me "Annie" or spells is "Ann." But I think "Anne" is very classy and beautiful.
it is like a nick name for someone like shianne that is my sister name'shianne but we call her anne.
My name is Anne Elizabeth, and I couldn't ask for a more classy, and timeless name. I will probably try to keep the name in the family. Anyone who hates that their name is Anne is crazy!
i love being an anne. It's classy and timeless. and i agree - i have been picky since i was a kid about having the e at the end. if You're an anne with an e, you can hear the difference between ann and anne. and anne is definitely better.
It's not boring, It's very unique--especially by adding the letter E to the end! It's special in It's own way!
I'm a 16-year-old Anne, and though I spent much of my childhood wishing I had a more inter'sting name (I always wanted to be a Caitlin), I love it now. It's classy, timeless, and people think I'm intelligent before they meet me :P Definitely better than being one of a million Katies, Emmas or Haylies. Classics rock!
IM Anne with the E,so because I alway said that as a child Im called Anneee! by my friends and family ! well it could have been worse I was called Valarie for 3 day when I was born.
I used to hate it and think it was boring but have come to love it now and You're all right it is timeless and classy!:o) Like being called Annie aswell, It's cute!
I liked the name. my name is Ane with only one n.I say with the E because my name is basque but it not say like "Annie". In the basque country is a very popular name now and I dont think Anne is an old-fashioned name , my name is very similar and im fourteen.
I heard from an Iranian person today that It'sounds like a bad word in persian (means poo...) - I'm not joking! he'said he could not call his teacher by her name without wincing.
This is a cool site im a 26 year old male and i love my name its been a topic with everyone I'meet the ladies love and i will pass the name to my first if that comes around
I love my name and the'spelling. It is simple, elegant, and unusual. My mother'said she wanted a name that was plain enough for me to become whatever I chose.
I am Anne Elizabeth, and I think it is a lovely name. It is not plain at all, and I love that no one else at my school has the'same name as me.
I'm German & my full name is "Annegret" but my teache's & friends often mispronounced it, so I shortened it to "Anne" & do accent the "E" as it would have been in my German language. I still get called Ann, but have adjusted rather than correcting people. What irritates me is when I pronounce & spell it for people & they still get it wrong. Oh well. Love my name & heritage.
My name is Anne Elizabeth and I have seen several othe's here who are also Anne Elizabeth. Quite a popular combination. I was researching old parish registers from the 1500❤️s in Norway and apparently this was a common combination then also as I found several babies within just a few years with this same combination.
People do spell my name wrong. Mostly because I like to be called Annie. I don't meet a lot of people with the'same name. The correct way to spell my name is Anne.
i've never liked the name. It'seems so dreary && old fashioned.
It'seems like most women in my family were named Anne, except for me. In a way, I wish I had that name, too. To me, Anne is classic, classy, and timeless. These days, with the'superabundance of Jennifers, Courtneys, etc., it is also relatively uncommon. Yes, people misspell it, but they also misspell John (Jon), James (Jamie, Jamey, Jaime, Jaimie, etc.), Jenny (Jennie, Jenni, etc.) and lots of other common names.
My name is Anne and I used to think that I really didn't like my name, and I thought about changing it but then I thought harder and I love my name! Sometimes I get annoyed when people don't spell it right but I am also sort of glad that I got this name because no one can make a really weird nickname out of it.
this is my name and I louve it. I have a lot of nicknames and i like them.
I like my name, especially when'there Isn't anyone else in a certain group (e.g. my year group in school)with the'same name. Sometimes I think It's a bit old fashioned, but It's my name, and I can't imagine myself with a different name. It does annoy me though, when some stupid people spell and say my name Annie, and no matter how many times I correct it, can't change it. The only person who I let calling me Annie is my dad, cause that's always been his nickname for me. I am also really protective of the e at the end of Anne. I reckon Ann just looks incomplete and weird, whereas Anne is more proper and prettier.
Anne is my name. Ann was my name. But i changed it. I felt Ann was incomplete and I did not really have a character then. I love my name'so much because it is unpretentious. I am Anne and that is who I am. People have called me Hannah, I hate it but I just let them. Now, the only problem is that on my birth Certificate, its Ann but the rest of my document, its Anne. I know its thesame but some people may say its different. I have left it to God though. What i love the most about my name is the meaning. Grace of God. Or Favor of God. It is just wonderful. I'll always love my name.
I love my name!!! My teacher used to say Annie Babie, what's your answer❤️ hahaha...I loved the attention. Guys that tried to hit on my might call me Anna because I said Anne accenting the last sound and their ears didn't work. Those guys lost points, and dates :) Anyway my mom said they almost named me Kim because my grandma suggested Kimberly, but my dad said no... He went with Anne and my mom agreed when she thought of Princess & Queen Anne.. Classic Baby! Much better than annoying names like Jennifer! Everywhere I look there's 5 Jennifers! Poor Angelina Jolie has to go through the'same thought.
This is my name. yeah people pronounce it wrong and also miss spell it. i e sha. no ive never met anyone else with the'same name as me. i love the name. its different than anyone elses so i love it. -Iesha Jordan
I agree. Everyone calls me Annie when'they first meet me. I think they should know that it is pronounced Ann but spelled with an "E". Like Anne in Anne of Green Gables said It's Anne with an "E"!!!
