I love my name but people often mispronounce it. They will say 'Adrianne' or make the A short, like Ah-drienne. I hear "Yo, Adrienne!" all the time but I know if I hear someone yell my name they mean me 'cause there aren't 1000 of us walking around with that name.
This name is very nice, although very popular right now. I like how It'sounds hip and stylish. I like the'shortened "Cam" as well.
MY DAUGHTER BORN IN 1994 NAME IS SPELLED ADRIENE. NEVER HEARD THE NAME MUCH AT THE TIME. THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY TO FIND THE MEANING TO BE THE DARK ONE. MY DAUGHTER IS A BLONDE HER BLUE EYED BUT THE name'sO FITS HER.
I love this name because it is classy, not so common, and has a musical sound.
My oldest daughters name is Adrienne. I think it is a beautiful name fit for a beautiful dark headed little girl.
I love this name and would have considered using it for a child except that I wouldn't want my child to be associated with reality TV star Adrienne Curry. But otherwise, its a very beautiful name.
Go to France and have a man say it and you'll love it!
Love it. In fact, this is the name I gave my daughter who is a dark haired beauty with lovely grey eyes. My father's family lived near the Adriatic Sea when he was young and hence the name always intrigued me. It is unique, different, and elegant. However, the cons are that it is difficult for her to find non-customized personalized items, it is sometimes mispronounced as Adrianne, and I under'stimated the "Yo Adrienne" comments that would assail her. It is a beautiful name.
I named my daughter Adrienne Claire. I had gone to h.s. with an Adrienne, and I loved her name and the'spelling. I like that It's not too common but sounds classy, beautiful, and ooooh-la-la! My Adrienne has very dark hair.
I have always loved my name Adrienne! I was born in 1995. People nowadays have trouble pronouncing it... I tell them to think of the movie Rocky! Hahaha. My family nicknamed me Drin but I don't go by that often because Adrienne is just so pretty. I have curly brown hair and blue eyes.
My name is Adrienne. When I was little I didn't like it, but i've grown to love my name. It'sounds royal to me. I rarely meet people with my name, but funny thing is, when I do, most of the time they are brunettes (like myself!)
My name is Adrienne too...and I'm a brunette! I never realized it until I read your post, but the Adrienne's I know are brunettes too! Same with me, I hated it, but now I love it. Never get sick of the "Yo, Adrienne" jokes (from Rocky). I swore, after my mother named me that, that I would name my daughter'something simple...wrong, I named her "Tierany". haha
I do not meet many people with this name. People often mispell it or call me Angela or Andrea. I do get a lot of rocky's "Yo Adrienne", but I find that more amusing than annoying. Most people call me Adge or Adgey for short
as a little girl i didnt like my name either but i like it now also. it realy is unique.
Most people get the'spelling wrong. Variations are; Adrian (male) Adrain Adrianne Adrien etc... You can never get enough of "YO ADRIENNE" But it is unique and nice that you don't have to go by last names in your group pf friends because everyones name is Adrienne.
I was born in the early 80s. I was named after my great-aunt who was French. My parents were looking for a soft sounding name'since I was a very small baby, and thought it fit the bill. Same issues as most commentators: rocky comments, never anything with my name on it as a kid, people called me Andrea, everyone spells it wrong. There were two guys in my high school named 'Adrian' but I didn't meet another 'Adrienne' until I was about 25. Lately I see a lot of baby girls being named 'Adrian'- I hope that 'Adrienne' doesn't become obsolete, because I love our spelling.
My name was always misspelled or mispronounced. Very frustrating that I'd even get called Andrea. Lots of Yo,Adrienne. But, I do like my name and that It's unique.
MY NAME IS ADRIENNE & I ALSO HATED IT AS A CHILD. I WAS CALLED ADRIANNE BY PEOPLE ALL THE TIME I WAS NAMED BY MY COUSIN WHO HAD A SISTER IN SCHOOL NAMED SISTER MARY ADRIENNE. MY MOM LOVED IT & GAVE IT TO ME. I AM NOW 70 YRS. OLD & STILL GET THE "YO ADRIENNE"
this is my name and i've never had any problems with it. It is an ok name and it fits me perfectly. Nicole Abbattista
I am 59 years old and my name is Adrienne..it has been mispronounced more than I can count. I wanted to be a Cathy or Lisa or Debbie when I was younger but as I grew older I learned I am unique...and how many of us have heard Yo Adrienne...lol
My name is Adrienne and I have always loved my name. My father named me in 1985. When you hardly heard the name.
I was born in the fifties and given'this name. I disliked it but grew to love it. Really It's the only decent thing my mum did for me!!
My name is Adrienne and its annoying when people spell it Adrian or call me adrianna and i can never find it on key chains
I named my daughter Adrienne Eve. She loves watching Rocky! Light up when she hears...yoooooo Adrienne. LOL
My friend is named Adrienne, I think It's a fantastic name, It's very pretty!
I like my name and yes people spell it like he boys name Adrian and also call you adrianna or Andrea my friends and family have shortened it to AJ or Ado
I love having this name. It's not so uncommon that It'seems outlandish, but it is still unique and sophisticated. People often spell it the male way, that gets annoying. And a lot of people like to cal lme "Adrianna" or "Adrianne". That gets on my nerves too, but I still love having this name.
I am an Adrienne and I love it. I am from the UK and know no other Adrienne's, very rare over here. I get frustrated at how many people get it wrong though. It isnt that hard a name. though a lot of people have mentioned most Adrienne's have dark brown hair, but I am a blondie.
It has been my name for 45 years and I like it. I didn't as a child, but as an adult it is good - classy, with a bit of an edge. I was told once that all Adrienne's are attractive...course he might have been hitting on me.
